Approved by the Directorate General of shipping, Ministry of Surface Transport, Govt. of India.
Duration: 4 ½ months, fully residential.

3.4 ½ months fully residential
Eligibility Criteria- For 1 & 2 Educational qualification-Pass 10th standard or equivalent Examination with Science, Maths and English as subject. For 3 Educational qualification – Pass 10th standard or equivalent Examination with English as subject.
Age limit: Not less than 17.5 years and not more than 21 years at the time of commencement.
Medical standard: As per M.S Medical examination Rule 1986, Normal vision with No Colour Blindness.
Training Programme- Selected candidates will undergo Residential Pre-Sea Training at METRI campus Falta Industrial Growth Center Sector IV Falta, 24 PGS. (South) West Bengal India.
Prospect: After completion of the courses successfully, candidates will be eligible to obtain the C.D.C from the office of the Shipping Master, Kolkata (Directorate General of Shipping) which qualifies them to take up employment at sea on their own.
