Admission Announcement for the XIth Batch of Post Master Course in Natural Resource Management (Recognised by AIU as equivalent to M.Phil) 2004-05
The Institute: The Institute is an apex organisation in the field of forest and natural resource management. Its Post Master Course in Natural Resource Management is recognised by the Association of Indian Universities as being equivalent to M.Phil degree.
The Course: A one year full-time residential course, it is first of its kind in Asia having national and international participation with the objective of improving the skills of resource managers, practitioners, professionals and others interested in sustainable development of forest, other natural resources and environment.
Eligibility and Selection Procedure: A candidate must have at least a two years ‘Master’s Degree or equivalent degree/diploma (recognised from AIU/AICTE) in any subject with the minimum of 50% marks in aggregate. Candidates having background working experience in forestry, agriculture, environment, biological and social sciences related field will be given preference. It is expected that the candidate is fluent in written and spoken English, as the language of instruction is in English. The candidates will have to go through a selection process comprising of Written Test, Presentation and Personal Interview, as decided by the Institute. Mere fulfilling the minimum eligibility criteria does not guarantee admission to the course.
Fellowship: Limited fellowhships are also available on the basis of performance during the course, as per rules framed by the Institute for the purpose.
Reservation: Reservation of seats are available for SC/ST and physically disabled candidates as per rules, provided they meet the minimum selection criteria as specified by IIFM.
